URUS Management Trainee Program

This program will fast-track your career at URUS. Senior leaders and executives mentor each trainee through 2-3 project rotations. High impact, real-world projects are customized for you to be challenged and grow. During the 2-3 year program, you will create an immediate impact on our business. Through coaching, intensive training, and on-the-job learning, we prepare you for a management career with URUS.

CREATE YOUR PATH TO A MANAGEMENT CAREER THROUGH OUR 2-3 YEAR PROGRAM

Rotate through multiple high-impact projects in various business areas, including:

This rotation is ideal for leaders with a start-up spirit. Project opportunities range from working with mergers and acquisitions to exploring the innovative business opportunities emerging with carbon credits. Other project potential in this area includes working as a business analyst to help screen, vet, and close new acquisitions, products, and other business opportunities that meet the URUS’ inorganic revenue and asset growth objectives and create value for members and clients. Trainees may work directly with our CFO, Director of Business Development, Director of Global Development, and other key stakeholders across URUS.

If you excel at critical thinking, analysis, and attention to detail, this rotation will elevate your skills even further! Apply project management and process improvement skills to optimize systems and operations that leverage technology, data, and statistics. Specific business sectors where projects leverage these skills include IT, dairy software development, dairy genetics research and development, and more. Mentorship in this area may come from Senior leaders in IT, R&D, software engineers, production, business development, and more. Projects would leverage a data-driven approach to create solutions for our companies and may cover strategy to provide end-to-end delivery support on initiatives from idea inception to successful deployment of technologies..

If you enjoy problem solving, creating structured systems, and thrive through a tenacious drive for excellence, this rotation will excite you! Our opportunities in supply chain management and logistics provide solutions to drive excellence. In this rotation, learn how to optimize the entire supply chain, coordinate global requirements, and plan for production. Explore and propose ways to detect and reduce errors in production, streamline supply chain management, improve customer experience, improve costs, and educate employees. Discover how to generate and apply exceptional communication and change management skills to hold teams accountable for overall product or service quality. Mentorship may come from sr. leaders and executives responsible for production, distribution, client services, and more.

Entrepreneurial, competitive, and results-oriented leaders will shine here! You will be trained effectively drive sales and revenue with dairy and beef prospects, clients, and members through strategic planning for new business development. Projects may include determining current customer and member needs for a broader portfolio of products, discovering ways to drive new account sales, and exploring overall profitability improvement. By working through mentorship from Sr. Sales Managers, you will determine plans to achieve growth targets, oversee effective and efficient product delivery to clients and members, propose client loyalty and retention programs, and innovate business development initiatives.

If your strengths are in creativity, innovation, or project management, this rotation will make them even stronger! Projects would support URUS and company Marketing teams by providing information and analysis in core business processes. Key activities may include revenue and forecast planning, market research, category development, and pricing analyses. Additional project opportunities may explore digital marketing innovation and e-commerce to expand web-based strategies throughout our global entities. Learn to define and share what the companies are for through fanatic client and member-centric service. Mentorship in this rotation would come from Marketing Managers and Directors and would involve additional support from marketing specialists across matrix teams.

For leaders looking to create impact by contributing to something bigger, a rotation in Global Development is the place! As URUS develops projects in emerging markets throughout Africa and South America, we have a variety of opportunities for leaders focused on creating a brighter future by applying sustainable practices to business. Projects may include supporting grant proposals, creating educational pieces for international partners, developing corporate social responsibility projects, and researching and identifying opportunities that can have the highest and fastest impact to positively change productivity of farms in the developing countries. Mentorship would come from Directors in Global and Corporate Development.

If your passion is people and creating environments for them to perform their best, a rotation with People Development & HR will ignite your interests and catalyze new learning! Opportunities and projects within URUS People Development and HR would align with building company culture, enhancing internal training and development programs, and exploring operational opportunities to create greater impact for our people throughout our matrix team structure. Examples of specific project opportunities may range from learning about and proposing implementation strategies for HR trends of importance to URUS, to driving HR solutions through technology to bring a data-based decision-making approach to the team. Trainees in this rotation would experience mentorship from HR leaders in URUS and across URUS companies with Executive Sponsorship from the URUS COO.
